借鉴与己化 - 韩国史为题的高丽咏史诗研究 -
한국인들은 신라 시기로부터 영사시(詠史詩)를 쓰기 시작하였다. 그러나 그것은 모두 중국사 를 제재(題材)로 하고 그 역사를 읊은 것으로 타산지석으로 이용하려는 의식의 소치였다고 할 수 있다. 그런데 고려 시기에 들어서면서 그것보다 더 중요한 한국사를 제재로 한 영사시가 나타나게 되는데 「동명왕편(東明王篇)」이 가장 대표적인 것이라고 할 수 있다. 한민족, 자기 민족의 역사를 제재로 한 영사시가 나타나면서 한국의 영사시는 하나는 민족사를 제재로 하고 있으나 시작(詩作)에서 중국의 역사인물이나 역사사건, 그리고 전고(典故)를 이용하여 시인의 시적 정서나 감정을 표현하는 영사시와 전반 시작(詩作)에 중국 관련 내용이 전혀 없이 제재로부 터 서정에 이르기까지 모두 순수하게 민족사로 일관하는 영사시, 이 두 갈래로 갈린다. 그러나 이것은 내용적인 측면으로 보아 모두 한국사에 초점을 맞추고 한국사를 제재로 하고 있다는 측면에서 영사시의 발전에 있어서 자못 중요한 의의를 지닌다. 그것은 한국의 영사시가 고려 중기에 이르러 완전히 한국화되기 시작했으며 선명한 자국화, 현지화 경향을 나타내기 시작했다 는 것을 말해준다. 그때로부터 영사시란 시체(詩體)는 한국에 뿌리를 내리게 되었으며 영사시란 이 한시체(汉诗體)의 동아시아 지역의 “동근다기(同根多枝)”, 즉 중국에서 전파되어 왔고 중국 영사시를 준용하고 있으나 꽃은 한국에서 피는 문화 현상이 나타나게 된다. 고려 중기에 한국 민족사에 기반을 둔 영사시가 대량 나타나게 된 데는 여러 가지 원인이 있는데 그것은 고려 중기에 이르러 나타난 한민족 역사의식의 고양과 더불어 민족 역사 담론을 비롯한 민족의 주체 의식, 즉 민족의 역사를 정리하여 정당화하려는 움직임과 자기 민족의 역사에서 민족 자부심과 자긍심을 찾아보려는 현실적인 기대와 거기에서 미래 지향적인 비전을 제시해 보려는 의도들이 작용한 것으로 미루어 볼 수 있으며 또 송나라 문화를 중심으로 하는 중국문화의 영향 하에 그것을 타산지석으로 이용하면서 자기화하려는 강렬한 의욕이 작용한 것으로 볼 수 있다.
Reference and Localization - A Study of Goryeo’s Historical poems Based on Korean History -
Koreans have been writing historical poems since the Silla period, but most of them are based on Chinese history.Koreans began writing historical poems based on their own history in the middle and later stages of Goryeo.The “Saga of King Tongmyong” is the most typical historical poem drawn from one's own national history.However, during this period, the Goryeo’s historical poetry, which was based on national history, was still composed of two parts.Firstly, although based on national history, historical poems still utilize Chinese culture or related content when expressing emotions; Secondly, historical poems that fully utilize one's own national history without utilizing any content related to Chinese culture.However, they are all historical poems drawn from Korean history and have important significance in the development of Korean historical poems.It indicates that the style of historical poems in Korea has begun to be localized.From then on, the genre of historical poems settled down in Korea and emerged as a cultural phenomenon with the same roots and numerous branches.There is a reason for the emergence of a large number of historical poems during the Goryeo period, which is related to the rising national consciousness within Korea during this period. It is also a product of the strong influence of Chinese culture (Song culture), borrowing from it, transforming it, and making it personalized.
